How to Watch Tour of Flanders 2022 in USA

The 2022 Tour of Flanders will be broadcast live on television and online.

It’s currently cobbled classics season in the year 2022. With the E3, Gent-Wevelgem, and a slew of other weekend and midweek events in March, cyclists have already developed a taste for the infamous Flemish cobbles and bergs.

That Elisa Balsamo (Trek-Segafredo) won last weekend’s Gent-Wevelgem race wasn’t a huge surprise.

The winner of the women’s world championship race bested former world champs Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) and sprint standout Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx) to add to her already magnificent palmares.

Biniam Girmay (Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert Materiaux) of Eritrea won the men’s race by a wide margin, setting a personal best and besting the performances of many more seasoned sprinters, including Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma), Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Fenix), Mads Pederson (Trek-Segafredo), and many more.

Some cyclists to keep an eye on in Flanders

Alexander Kristoff, Girmay’s teammate, will be hoping to carry the team’s momentum into the second monument of the year without him as Girmay will not be starting the 2022 “De Ronde.” If Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) shows up to the start, he will be marked, as will UAE Team Emirates teammates Tadej Pogacar and Matteo Trentin.

Tom Pidock, fresh off a great third place at the Dwars door Vlaanderen, and Ethan Hayter are being sent by Ineos Grenadiers. Movistar is sending their favourite rider, the allegedly ageless Alejandro Valverde, while Astana-Qazaqstan is sending their favourite rider, Vincenzo Nibali, and Gianni Moscon.

Matej Mohoric, the 2022 Milan-San Remo winner (and dropper-post technical wiz), will be racing for Bahrain-Victorious.

After finishing third at Milan-San Remo and then winning the Coppi e Bartali and the Dwars door Vlaanderen in quick succession, Mathieu van der Poel seems to have found his form and is a strong contender for the podium.

The Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl team includes riders including Kasper Asgreen (bib #1), Yves Lampaert, and Zdenek Stybar, all of whom will be competing in the “Wolfpack” race.

Since the entire Israel-Premier Tech team dropped out of the race on Friday owing to injury and illness, any money you had staked on any of their riders finishing in the top positions should be rethought before the betting windows close.

On the women’s side, Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) is the heavy favourite, but her Dutch teammate Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar Team) wearing bib #1 should not be written off.

Megan Jastrab of the United States will be competing for Team DSM, but teammate Lorena Wiebes is the heavy favourite to place highly. Since Elisa Balsamo (Trek-Segafredo) has won her last three races, including in Gent Wevelgem, she is a highly recognisable rider.

Lucinda Brand, Elisa Longo Borghini, and Ellen van Dijk will all be there to back her up. Lotte Kopecky, Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, and Demi Vollering provide SD Worx a formidable punch.
